Frequently asked questions
How much does CCTV installation cost in Macau?
It depends on the number of cameras, whether they are indoor or outdoor, and how much cabling is needed. Assessment and quotation are free — we look at the site before quoting rather than giving a vague figure over the phone. Cameras start from a few hundred patacas, and installation is MOP 80 per unit.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. We set up remote viewing so you can watch from anywhere, and configure motion alerts if you want them.
Where is the footage stored, and for how long?
Either on the camera's memory card or centrally on a NAS. Retention depends on resolution and capacity — typically a few days to two weeks on a card, and several months with a NAS. We advise based on what you need.
My old system failed. Can I replace just the cameras?
It depends on the existing system's standard. We look at it on site first — if only the cameras need changing, we will not ask you to replace the whole system.
Are there legal requirements for CCTV in Macau?
Macau has personal data protection rules, and cameras should not overlook a neighbour's property or private space beyond common areas. We take that into account when planning camera positions.
